Description
Panforte was first made based on an ancient cake from Siena known as “panmelato”. The original recipe was enriched when the local “speziali”, or ancient apothecaries, added fine ingredients that came from the east.
In this delicious version, also favoured by the soldiers during the Second World War for its nutritious properties, the strong taste of the walnuts meets the sweetness of the figs, creating a unique dough, still kneaded by hand today to retain all the authenticity of its traditional flavour.

Ingredients:
Candied melon and citron 36% (melon, glucose-fructose syrup, cedar 9%, sugar, acidifier:
(citric acid) – wheat flour – sugar – pistachio 10% – almonds 6% – glucose-fructose syrup – sugar powder 3% (sugar, corn starch) – starch wafer (potato starch, water, sunflower oil) – flavourings.
May contain SOYA, MUSTARD and other NUTS.
