HISTORICAL AND TECHNICAL NOTES

The history of Primitivo IGP is lost in the mists of time. Arrived in Puglia probably by the hand of the Illyrians, the Balkan population devoted to the cultivation of the vine, began to be marketed in the Mediterranean by the Phoenicians. Today it represents, together with Negroamaro, the most famous and requested variety among the wines of Salento, synonymous with quality and tradition linked to the typical planting, from the name "Alberello Pugliese". It involves a very low average yield per hectare, but of very high quality.

The harvest, early, takes place by hand. The grapes are then macerated in horizontal rotary fermenters and the resulting wine aged for 6 months in French oak barriques. Further refinement in the bottle follows.
