Cannellini Beans

Originating from America, they have been cultivated since ancient times: jars containing beans were found in Peru in tombs from the pre-Inca period; they were also much appreciated by the Romans (we find mention of them in Apicius' recipe book “de re coquinaria”).
Cannellini beans have a high potassium content which contributes to normal muscle function.
They are also rich in fibre and protein.
